The Slow Return of Trust

This slowness is not a sign that you are stuck. It is the appropriate pace of genuine healing. The trust that returns too quickly is not trust — it is the suppression of the wound. The trust that returns slowly is the trust that has actually been rebuilt.

You cannot rush this process. You can only stay present to it — noticing when the openness increases, honoring the moments of genuine connection, and being patient with the moments when the old vigilance returns.
